Though Hillsboro is an autonomous, independently governed Baptist Church, we have chosen to voluntarily cooperate with over 50,000 other Baptist churches, which make up the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). On a state level, Hillsboro has been historically connected to the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) since at least 1885.

Hillsboro is far from a perfect church. However, we are "deeply committed to renewing our faith in the gospel of Christ and to reforming our ministry practices to conform fully to the Scriptures." The Gospel Coalition aims to help churches do just that, "by providing resources that are trusted and timely, winsome and wise, and centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ." Hillsboro utilizes TGC's resources for discipleship in Christ.
Pastor Jimmy D. affirms the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, The Danvers Statement, The Nashville Statement, the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689), and the Baptist Faith and Message.
Therefore, Hillsboro is listed on the Founders Ministries Church Directory so that others might get connected to a healthy, biblically-grounded, gospel-preaching, Christ-exalting church.

Answers in Genesis
To disciple children in the truth of God's Word, we utilize the Answers Bible Curriculum from Answers in Genesis, a "ministry dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively."

Lifeway is a ministry arm of the SBC which exists to "fuel the church’s mission of making disciples" by providing biblical resources for the local church to use. Hillsboro uses Lifeway material for youth, young adults, men and women's Bible studies.
Caring Well Initiative
On September 24, 2023, the congregation of Hillsboro Baptist Church unanimously voted to adopt and implement a set of Caring Well Policies and Procedures. The aim behind doing so is to be a church that remains safe from abuse and is safe for survivors of abuse.
